Samsung Display is once again pushing the limits of display technology. Ahead of CES 2026, the company has revealed a 77-inch QD-OLED TV panel capable of reaching an astonishing 4,500 nits of peak brightness, making it the world’s brightest self-emissive display to date.
This next-generation QD-OLED panel is designed to redefine what premium OLED TVs can deliver, particularly in brightness, color accuracy, and real-world viewing impact. Samsung has confirmed that this technology will power its high-end OLED TVs launching in 2026.
The standout feature of the new QD-OLED panel is its 4,500 nits peak brightness, a significant leap over current OLED displays. Unlike traditional OLED panels that use white subpixels to boost brightness, Samsung’s QD-OLED approach combines the peak luminance of each RGB component.
By doing so, the panel maintains superior color purity while delivering higher perceptual brightness. Bright highlights appear more vivid, colors remain accurate even at high luminance levels, and HDR content gains a level of realism that is typically associated with high-end LED displays.
Samsung says the RGB-based brightness strategy allows the panel to preserve rich color saturation at extreme brightness levels. This means HDR scenes with intense highlights, such as sunlight reflections or explosions, retain detail and depth without washing out colors.
The result is a display that feels brighter to the human eye while still delivering the deep blacks and contrast OLED is known for.
The new QD-OLED panel also supports AI-driven image optimization, enabling TVs to automatically adjust picture settings based on the content being viewed and the surrounding environment.
Whether watching a movie in a dark room, streaming sports during the day, or gaming under mixed lighting, the AI system fine-tunes brightness, contrast, and color in real time to maintain consistent picture quality.
Samsung Display has confirmed that this advanced QD-OLED panel will be used in Samsung’s premium OLED TV lineup launching in 2026. While product names and pricing have not been announced, the technology is clearly aimed at the ultra-premium segment, competing directly with the brightest Mini-LED and next-gen OLED TVs on the market.
Beyond TVs, Samsung Display is using CES 2026 as a platform to showcase how OLED and AI can work together in new form factors. One of the most eye-catching demonstrations is the AI OLED Bot, a compact robot equipped with a 13.4-inch OLED display. Designed as a teaching assistant, the bot can display information, visuals, and interactive content in real time.

Samsung is also showing concept audio products such as the AI OLED Turntable and AI OLED Cassette. These speaker systems feature circular OLED panels that recommend music, display animations, and respond visually to audio playback.
To address concerns around OLED durability, Samsung Display has created a dedicated durability zone at its CES exhibition. In one demonstration, a robotic arm repeatedly throws basketballs at 18 foldable OLED panels mounted on a board. Despite repeated impacts, the displays remain fully functional.
Another test involves dropping steel balls onto foldable OLED screens, allowing visitors to compare their resilience against other display technologies. These demonstrations are designed to highlight OLED’s growing suitability for demanding real-world applications.
Samsung Display is also expanding OLED’s role in vehicles. At CES 2026, the company is showcasing advanced automotive cockpit concepts, including an 18.1-inch flexible L-shaped center display, a hidden passenger screen, and OLED tail lamps capable of showing live road alerts to vehicles behind.
These innovations point toward a future where OLED displays play a central role in both in-car information and external vehicle communication.
In the XR space, Samsung Display is presenting its RGB OLEDoS microdisplay, featuring an ultra-dense 5,000 PPI packed into a 1.4-inch panel. The company has integrated this display into a headset demo, highlighting its potential for next-generation AR and VR devices that require extreme clarity and compact form factors.
Samsung Display’s showcase will be on full display at CES 2026 in Las Vegas, which runs from January 6 to January 9. The exhibition highlights Samsung’s broader vision of combining OLED technology with AI, durability, and new use cases across consumer electronics, automotive, and XR.
