British audio specialist Cambridge Audio has a legacy of audiophile-grade components, and with the Melomania M100, it brings that sound heritage to a pair of premium true wireless earbuds. Designed for music lovers who crave both Hi-Fi performance and modern convenience, the M100 promises studio-quality sound, adaptive ANC, and exceptional battery life—all in a compact, in-ear form.
With support for aptX Lossless, a customizable EQ via the Melomania Connect app, and Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity, these earbuds aim to deliver a top-tier wireless listening experience. But do they live up to the hype? Let's dive into a full review of the Melomania M100.
At the heart of the M100’s audio excellence is aptX Lossless support, a rarity even among flagship earbuds. This codec enables bit-perfect transmission, allowing you to experience your music exactly as the artist intended, provided you’re using a compatible source.
Coupled with 10mm dynamic drivers and a frequency range of 20Hz to 20kHz, the M100 offers expansive detail, dynamic range, and natural tonality. Whether you’re into classical, jazz, or EDM, you’ll appreciate the clarity and separation.
The M100 is equipped with adaptive hybrid Active Noise Cancellation, which intelligently adjusts to your surroundings. Whether you're on a plane or walking through a busy street, the earbuds work in real time to eliminate unwanted noise.
In addition to standard ANC, there are three noise control modes including a transparency mode that lets in ambient sound for better situational awareness.
The Melomania M100 shines when it comes to endurance. With ANC off, you get up to 52 hours of total battery life (from earbuds and case combined), and 33 hours with ANC enabled. A 10-minute quick charge gives you up to 90 minutes of playback—perfect for when you're in a rush.
Using the Melomania Connect app, users can fine-tune the sound through a 7-band EQ or select from pre-set sound profiles. The app also allows you to toggle ANC and touch controls, making it easier to personalize your experience based on your usage and preferences.
Thanks to Bluetooth 5.3, the M100 offers faster transmission speeds, greater range, and improved power efficiency. The connection remains stable even in crowded environments, and pairing is near-instant across compatible devices.
Comfort is a strong suit of the M100. With five different ear tip options—including memory foam and silicone—you can achieve a snug, secure fit tailored to your ear shape. Plus, with an IPX4 water resistance rating, the earbuds can handle sweat and splashes without a hitch.
The Melomania M100 earbuds are priced at $99.00 in the United States, offering impressive value for those who prioritize audio fidelity and noise cancelation in a sub-$100 package. Available through Cambridge Audio’s website, Amazon, and other major retailers, they are positioned competitively in the upper-mid-tier segment.

From the moment you pop the Melomania M100s into your ears, the sound signature speaks volumes—quite literally. The tuning is wonderfully balanced and neutral, emphasizing clarity without exaggerating bass or treble. The soundstage feels wide and immersive, with pinpoint imaging that makes live recordings and layered tracks a pleasure to experience.
The adaptive ANC works effectively in most environments, cutting down on low-frequency hums and background chatter. While it might not rival the top-tier ANC leaders like Sony or Bose, it’s certainly competent and a significant upgrade from passive isolation.
Battery life is where the M100 easily outperforms most competitors. Even heavy users will appreciate the multi-day longevity, and the quick charge feature adds practicality to power users’ routines.
However, not everything is perfect. The charging case, while robust, is on the larger side and less pocket-friendly than some rivals. Additionally, while the transparency mode functions as advertised, it's fairly basic and lacks the nuance or naturalness seen in some higher-end models. Also, those hoping for spatial audio might be disappointed by the absence of any proprietary processing.
On the customization front, the Melomania Connect app is intuitive and offers just the right amount of control without overwhelming the user. The 7-band EQ is a welcome tool for audiophiles who like to tweak sound profiles to match different genres.
If your top priority is audio quality and battery life, the Melomania M100 should absolutely be on your shortlist. These are not just another pair of ANC earbuds—they are a carefully engineered listening tool built for people who care about their sound.
At $99, they offer premium-level performance in areas that matter: lossless audio, long playtime, and rich customization. If you're an audiophile on a budget or a traveler who needs endurance without compromising clarity, this is an easy recommendation.
The Cambridge Audio Melomania M100 earbuds are a standout in the crowded wireless earbud market. They combine audiophile-grade sound, advanced ANC, and class-leading battery life in a sleek and comfortable package—all for under $100.
While the case could be more compact and transparency mode more refined, these are minor trade-offs when weighed against the audio fidelity and user control you get in return. The M100 is not just for the music enthusiast—it’s for anyone who refuses to compromise on sound, even on a budget.
