Apple has introduced an affordable Apple Pencil with a discreet USB-C charging port. This latest iteration is designed for a range of applications, including note-taking, sketching, annotating, and journaling. Featuring a matte finish and a flat magnetic side for convenient storage on the iPad, it is set to debut in early November at a price of $79.
Additionally, it is available at a discounted rate of $69 for current and newly enrolled college students, parents, faculty, staff, and homeschool teachers across all grade levels.
For those who already own the first-generation Apple Pencil, Apple offers a standalone USB-C to Apple Pencil adapter, available for purchase at the price of $9. This accessory facilitates compatibility with the newly introduced Apple Pencil.

Bob Borchers, Apple's Vice President of Worldwide Product Marketing, emphasized the versatility of the iPad combined with the new Apple Pencil. He highlighted its capabilities for digital handwriting, document annotation, and more. The new pencil boasts pixel-perfect accuracy, low latency, and tilt sensitivity.
However, it lacks certain features found in the 2nd generation Apple Pencil, such as pressure sensitivity, wireless pairing and charging, double-tap tool switching, and free engraving. Apple positions this as its most affordable model, suitable for use with the 10th generation iPad, as well as iPad Pros, iPad Airs, and iPad Minis equipped with USB-C ports.
