Xiaomi has expanded its electric mobility lineup in Europe with the launch of the Xiaomi Electric Scooter 5 Plus, a sleek and powerful small EV designed for urban commuting. Known for their compact, eco-friendly, and cost-efficient solutions, Xiaomi’s e-scooters have gained strong popularity, and the new model aims to raise the bar with enhanced range, comfort, and smart features.
At its core, the Electric Scooter 5 Plus is powered by a 900W motor, enabling it to achieve a maximum speed of 25kph (around 16mph). More than just flat terrain performance, it is capable of handling inclines of up to 20%, making it suitable for hilly city streets.
The scooter is fitted with a 477.4Wh battery pack, delivering a remarkable 60km range (about 37 miles) on a full charge. Riders can switch between three distinct riding modes—Pedestrian (6kph), Standard (15kph), and Sport (25kph)—depending on their comfort and riding conditions.
For smoother rides, Xiaomi has equipped the model with 12-inch tubeless tires paired with a front shock absorber, minimizing bumps and vibrations on uneven roads. The scooter also introduces a wider deck and taller handlebars compared to the base Electric Scooter 5, the Pro, and the Max, providing better ergonomics and stability.
The Electric Scooter 5 Plus isn’t just about speed and range—it also emphasizes rider safety. It comes with smart headlights, brake lights, traction control, and a dual braking system for reliable stopping power. Additionally, Bluetooth connectivity allows riders to link the scooter with Xiaomi’s companion app, unlocking extra controls and ride statistics.
The scooter weighs 26.6 kilograms, making it sturdy yet manageable for city use. Xiaomi has already launched it in France and Italy at a retail price of 549.99 Euros. The rollout will soon expand to other major European markets, including Spain, Germany, and the Netherlands, further broadening Xiaomi’s e-mobility footprint.
