At CES 2026, Takway has introduced an innovative AI-powered virtual pet called Sweekar, combining nostalgia with cutting-edge technology. Drawing clear inspiration from the iconic Tamagotchi toys of the late 1990s, Sweekar is designed to be a next-generation digital companion that grows and evolves over time while interacting meaningfully with its user.
Sweekar features a unique egg-shaped design with small ears and a built-in screen that displays its expressive face. The device comes in three color options—pink, yellow, and blue—and supports interchangeable shells and customizable outfits, allowing users to personalize their digital companion.
The pet begins its life in an egg form, requiring a two-day incubation period before it hatches. This playful element mirrors the Tamagotchi experience, encouraging engagement right from the start.
Sweekar evolves through four distinct life stages: egg, baby, teen, and adult. Each stage brings increased independence, with the adult stage requiring minimal attention from its owner. Users must feed and care for Sweekar in the early stages to keep it healthy, fostering a sense of responsibility while enjoying the companionship of their digital pet.
Equipped with an advanced AI memory system, Sweekar can recognize the user’s voice, recall past activities, and adapt its personality based on interactions. It exhibits a range of moods such as happy, angry, sleepy, and mischievous, making the experience feel lively and personal.
Sweekar can also embark on virtual adventures, returning with generated stories that reflect its journey. Once it reaches level 51, the pet becomes virtually unkillable, meaning it will continue to function even without regular attention, though the hardware still requires charging and maintenance.
Takway integrates Google Gemini and ChatGPT technologies to power Sweekar’s AI capabilities, ensuring responsive, dynamic interactions with users. The company has stated that all interactions are private, although independent verification of data privacy practices is not yet available.
Takway plans to launch Sweekar via a Kickstarter campaign in March 2026, with an expected price range of $100 to $150. While the company has not confirmed an exact release date, the campaign will give early adopters the chance to secure their AI pet ahead of the public launch.
Sweekar bridges the gap between retro gaming nostalgia and modern AI technology. By combining customizable design, evolving personality, and interactive adventures, it offers users a truly unique digital companion. For fans of Tamagotchi and tech enthusiasts alike, Sweekar promises to be one of CES 2026’s standout innovations in personal AI devices.
