The demand for clear and comfortable TV audio continues to grow, especially among users who struggle to catch dialogue even at higher volume levels. Addressing this need, JVC Kenwood has introduced the Victor SP-WS10BT, a portable wireless TV speaker developed as part of its Mimiraku hearing-support line. The product focuses on improving voice clarity, reducing listening strain, and providing flexible placement anywhere in the room.
One of the core strengths of the Victor SP-WS10BT is its low-latency digital wireless system. It uses a 2.4 GHz wireless connection that keeps audio delay to a minimum, with JVC listing latency at around 30 ms. This ensures that lip-sync issues are kept under control, allowing dialogues, reactions, and sound effects to align naturally with on-screen action.
The included transmitter connects to a TV through either an optical input or a 3.5 mm analog input. It is powered by a dedicated AC adapter and is designed to function as a simple plug-and-play device. Once paired, the transmitter sends audio directly to the speaker without complicated setup steps.
Inside the compact cabinet, the Victor SP-WS10BT features a 2-way audio system combining two tweeters, one woofer, and a large passive radiator. The cabinet itself is made from MDF, a material known for its low resonance and stable acoustic performance. JVC says this construction helps produce clearer mid and high frequencies while maintaining better low-end response than typical portable speakers of similar size.
The speaker includes three sound modes tailored to different listening needs:
Beyond TV audio, the SP-WS10BT supports Bluetooth 5.4 with SBC and AAC codec compatibility. Users can switch between TV mode and Bluetooth mode with a single button, allowing the speaker to double as a portable music speaker for smartphones and tablets.
The Victor SP-WS10BT features a walnut wood top panel paired with an aluminum folding handle. Weighing around 1,052 g, it is designed for portability, making it easy to carry between rooms. Its physical buttons are large and accessible, ensuring ease of use for all age groups.
The speaker offers up to 15 hours of battery life on a full charge and can continue playing audio even while charging. Three LED indicators clearly show the remaining battery level.
A 3.5 mm external audio input allows wired playback from various devices, while the built-in headphone jack supports private listening when needed.
Other conveniences include auto power-off for energy savings and a compact form factor.
JVC Kenwood will launch the Victor SP-WS10BT in Japan in late November. The speaker will be priced around ¥31,000, which is approximately $200. It will be available through authorized retailers across the country.
The Victor SP-WS10BT stands out as a thoughtfully designed TV companion for viewers who need clearer dialogue without increasing the volume. With its portable design, low-latency audio, Bluetooth support, and hearing-focused enhancements, it aims to deliver a more comfortable and accessible listening experience for everyday TV viewing.
