Vivo X Flip Foldable Phone Price, Specifications and Reviews

Two foldable flagship smartphones from Vivo, the Vivo X Fold2 and the Vivo X Flip, have both been released in China. Both the Vivo X Fold2 and Vivo X Flip give customers a different flagship experience because to their varied features and gorgeous, streamlined designs.

Here is Vivo's first effort at a clamshell-style phone, the X Flip. The company is no stranger to bendy phones and is already working on its second generation of the phone-turned-tablet concept, but the X Flip has just joined rivals like the Galaxy Z Flip and Motorola Razr in the fight for the affection of fans of smaller phones.

The small foldable phone Vivo X Flip, a brand-new member of Vivo's foldable range, stands out for its stylish, refined, and portable design. For a more streamlined aesthetic impression, the gadget utilises an integrated design that combines two cameras in a Dual-Tone Step Design.

It has a large cover display, and the micro-arcs on either side give it a cosy appearance. Aluminium alloy of the aerospace-grade gives a frame with a lighter and more sturdy construction. The ultra-durable lightweight hinge, with a bulge of only 3.15 mm thickness and a sturdy construction, enables the device's delicate and exquisite form. When folded, the Vivo X Flip is about the size of a compact powder case and is 7.75 mm thick when unfurled.

Vivo X Flip Overviews

Three gorgeous colours are available for the Vivo X Flip, with Rhombic Purple taking the stage. While the mix of distinctive stereoscopic leather and quilted curves provides the phone a light, sensuous, and shapely texture, radiating a sophisticated and classic vibe, the traditional quilted lining and vegan leather inject a flavour of French romanticism.

The device maintains a nearly fingerprint-free surface thanks to its wear- and dirt-resistant nano coating and fingertip-controlled folding mechanism. Silk Gold and Diamond Black are additional colours for the Vivo X Flip.

The smart Vivo X Flip delivers enhanced image capabilities and a revolutionary mobile photography experience thanks to ZEISS image and Free-Stop Shooting Experience. The Vivo X Flip has DV mode, which enables users to utilise the phone horizontally to create stylish vlogs and movie-like films, even in everyday situations.

Users may capture sights like traffic and starry nights with just one swipe and without needing a tripod thanks to the hovering time-lapse photography capability. Vivo X Flip offers richer tones and inventive shooting techniques with to its 50 MP VCS True Colour Main Camera, OIS technology, and ZEISS Style Portrait, making it a superior small-size foldable in terms of image capability.

The innovative Makeup Mirror with Aura Light on the Vivo X Flip can recognise faces intelligently and display accurate makeup effects. Users may easily test on various cosmetic looks and add makeup effects to their faces when shooting images thanks to this tool. Users may take excellent selfies that look to have been taken by someone else using the multi-angle hovering capability. Both vertical and horizontal photo capturing are supported by the handheld HD shooting capability, and the cover screen offers a more comfortable framing experience.

A worry-free user experience is also provided by the Vivo X Flip, which has TÜV Rheinland certification for withstanding 500,000 folds. The screen holds up after rigorous folding testing thanks to the enhanced waterdrop hinge construction and UTG. In addition, the Vivo X Flip has an industry-leading 4.5V high-energy-density battery and a 4400 mAh (typical) battery that supports 44W FlashCharge. Battery life is not compromised by the phone's thin design.

The Vivo X Flip comes with a redesigned eye protection screen and the powerful Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 mobile platform. The screen promises exceptional performance, aids in eye protection, and lessens visual strain with a refresh rate of 120 Hz, LTPO adaptive refresh, and high-frequency PWM dimming at 1920 Hz.

Vivo X Flip Design

Vivo is only now getting involved with the clamshell foldables trend with the X Flip, although other manufacturers like Samsung and Motorola may be many generations along with their designs. As a result of Oppo's Find N2 Flip and the X Flip's late entry into the contest, some of the form-factor's quirks have already been worked out.

The rather big cover display is one among them. The Galaxy Z Flip5 and the most recent Motorola Razr 40 Ultra are both likely moving in that direction, but the X Flip's 3-inch screen offers enough space for handling everyday tasks and offering a usable camera viewfinder, as we'll discuss more below.

design

From a design perspective, the black rectangle is fairly striking, but because its bezels go all the way around, it may not look as 'bolted-on' as the Find N2 Flip's and instead appear to be a true, integrated component of the phone. Even if it doesn't disappear as it does on the Razr, it is in no way offensive.

The two cameras are neatly positioned one above the other on a rather small circular hump, with a Zeiss logo on the left and a T* (lens coating) label next to an almost undetectable laser AF window. The flash LEDs couldn't fit here, so they were placed on a strip to the right, where vivo also printed some camera specifications.

With no wobbling in the hinge in either of the end states and just some side-to-side movement in the intermediate positions, the unfolding action is fluid and reassuringly sturdy. Speaking of, you can utilise the X Flip's hinge to take self-timed pictures while standing a distance away because it will gladly stay open at any angle between 50 and 130 degrees.

When you leave the X Flip in a tent state, a calendar mode for the cover screen is also offered, which continuously shows the time and date. Other than that, there is often no always-on display capabilities for the outside screen.

Although the X Flip is rated for 500,000 unfolds, it's unclear if that refers to the hinge alone or the hinge plus display. Ideally, both.

The centre of the X Flip is almost entirely crease-free when it is fully unfurled. There is just a slight wave that you are unlikely to notice at first unless you pay close attention to it, and even then, it quickly fades away when used. It's difficult to say which of the newest clamshells has the smoothest bend line, but the X Flip is undoubtedly excellent in this regard.

UTG (ultra-thin glass) shields the display, and a plastic protective layer is placed on top. Currently, we wouldn't dare remove it, but we also didn't find any clear instructions telling us not to — that might be due to our rusty Chinese or the fact that the top film isn't structural at all. Although it can become somewhat smeared after usage, it typically feels quite smooth to the touch.

The X Flip seems to be a typical big smartphone when it is unfurled, although a rather tall one. However, it is a few millimetres shorter than the Razr 40 Ultra, which is noticeably longer due to its 22:9 aspect ratio. The Galaxy Z Flip4 is noticeably thinner (also 22:9) than the X Flip, which is almost the same width as the Find N2 Flip and as tall as it.

For a clamshell foldable, the bezel situation is what you'd call typical; there is a frame around the panel that sits above it and safeguards its edges. There are two earphone cutouts in the bezel above the display, which is a nicer-looking design than the Find N2 Flip's and comparable to the Galaxy's, but Motorola has succeeded in making the earpiece virtually invisible.

The aluminium frame of the Vivo X Flip has been given a semi-glossy appearance. Vivo made the uncommon decision to leave blank the centre portion that protects the inner components and is visible when the phone is closed; Oppo and Samsung have placed their logos there, while Motorola has added Pantone cobranding for the Razr 40 Ultra's Viva Magenta hue.
