1. The magazine itself is great, but it only shows up in my kindle if I go into my account, find the subscription and tell Amazon that yes, I would like the latest issue. Sometimes it shows up more or less right away, other times not and I have to repeat the process, very frustrating. If the magazine showed up in my kindle on time, every time, I would subscribe again.
2. My favorite weekly, keeps me well informed on everything that matters .
3. I used to catch a lot of sh*t from my more - anarchist- then- thou friends for reading the print version of economist and occassionally the Wall Street Journal when they had 30 day free subscriptions.
Yes, psuedo libertarians dont generally present a convincing argument for their watered down viewpoints
And even if the next murray rothbard or ayn rand were to start publishing their verbose commentary in articles in this bastion of capitalist thought ,I doubt the 20 people who read editorials in the journal would ask for more info on how to make damn sure that welfare chiseled know their place and that there is a market based solution for literally everything.
As was said by a milton Friedman imitator ( but lacking friedmans sense of humor), if the market doesn't provide a solution. , then perhaps the problem cannot and should not be fixed
Fair enough.
Too bad he was speaking of climate change refugees from a natural disaster .
Despite the increasingly shrill commentary , I reccomend the WSJ and The economist.
I review both, as the cross over with contributing writers influenced the tone of both.
I sincerely believe that if one wants to refer to oneself as a anarchist or whatever trite overused label preferred, then one should read up on what the political antithesis of your beliefs are
And though I disagree with 95 percent of the viewpoints.
I must say, they were well written and easy to read.
If one likes market based solutions and slashing all social safety bets to let the invisible hand of capitalism guide the economically marginalized into worse problems( maybe a room in a private prisom......CCA is promoted by too many contributing writers to recall.). then check these fine publications out.
Not being sarcastic,as some seem to think. A variety of viewpoints cannot hurt. Not like I am giving stormfront a glowing review or something .
