The LG xboom Blast is designed around a simple idea: outdoor music should not require users to compromise on sound quality or durability.
Whether it is being taken to a campsite, placed beside a pool or used at a backyard gathering, the speaker is designed to deliver powerful audio while handling the challenges that come with outdoor use.
LG has equipped the xboom Blast with IP68-rated protection, giving it a high level of resistance against dust and water. The company also says the speaker has been verified through seven military-grade durability tests, highlighting its focus on reliability for people who frequently take their audio equipment outdoors.
A durable fabric exterior and protective side bumpers add another layer of protection. The speaker can also be positioned either vertically or horizontally, making it easier to fit into different outdoor spaces.
Battery life is one of the most important features of a portable party speaker, particularly when there may not be a convenient power outlet nearby.
The LG xboom Blast addresses this with a replaceable 99 watt-hour battery. According to LG, the speaker can deliver up to 36 hours of audio playback on a single charge when using its Play Time Enhance technology.
That makes the speaker suitable for long outdoor events where users may want music running throughout the day and into the evening.
The replaceable battery is also a useful addition for users who want to keep their speaker going for extended periods without relying entirely on a fixed power source.
Despite its portable design, LG xboom Blast is built to produce substantial audio output. The speaker can deliver up to 220 watts when connected to AC power, while output reaches up to 210 watts when operating on battery power.
The audio system features two 5.25-inch neodymium woofers paired with two 20mm tweeters from Danish audio brand Peerless.
This combination is designed to provide powerful low frequencies, clear high frequencies and a fuller sound across a wide listening area. That makes the speaker particularly suited to parties and outdoor gatherings where sound needs to reach more people.
LG has also brought its xboom Signature Sound tuned by will.i.am to the Blast, giving the speaker a sound profile developed specifically for an energetic party environment.
Users can stream music wirelessly through Bluetooth or connect a compatible device through USB-C for wired audio playback.
Outdoor environments can be unpredictable for audio equipment. Open spaces, walls, crowds and changing surroundings can all affect how music sounds.
To address this, LG xboom Blast includes several intelligent audio technologies.
The AI Sound feature analyzes music and other audio content in real time. It then adjusts the sound settings automatically to help deliver optimized playback without requiring users to manually change different audio settings.
Space Calibration Pro is designed to recognize the surrounding environment and adapt the speaker's sound output accordingly. This can help users get a more consistent listening experience when moving the speaker between different locations.
The Sound Field Enhance feature expands the perceived soundstage, creating a broader listening experience. This can be particularly useful during outdoor gatherings where listeners may be spread across a larger area.
Together, these features make the xboom Blast more adaptable than a traditional portable speaker that relies entirely on manual adjustments.
LG has also focused on the visual side of the party experience.
The xboom Blast comes with Dual Ring Lighting, while its AI Lighting system can synchronize lighting effects with different music genres, moods and playlists.
Instead of simply providing static illumination, the lighting is designed to complement the music and add more energy to parties and social gatherings.
For nighttime outdoor events, this lighting system can also help the speaker become part of the overall atmosphere rather than functioning solely as an audio device.
For larger parties, a single speaker may not always provide enough coverage. LG xboom Blast supports Auracast™, allowing multiple compatible speakers to be connected wirelessly.
This can help users expand audio coverage across larger spaces and create a more shared listening experience.
The feature could be especially useful for backyard parties, outdoor celebrations or other gatherings where guests are spread across different areas.
LG has taken an interesting approach to the physical design of the xboom Blast. Rather than making it look like a conventional large party speaker, the company says its design was inspired by a weekend duffel bag.
The speaker features a two-way carrying system with a traditional top handle and a flexible rope handle. The rope handle allows the speaker to be carried vertically, providing more flexibility when moving it between locations.
This design should make transporting the speaker more convenient, especially when users are carrying other outdoor equipment at the same time.
The xboom Blast has also received recognition with a 2026 Red Dot Design Award, reflecting LG's focus on combining portability with a distinctive outdoor-oriented appearance.
Another practical aspect of the design is the ability to use the speaker in both vertical and horizontal positions.
This gives users more freedom when setting up the xboom Blast in different environments. It can be placed on the ground, beside outdoor seating or in other available spaces without being restricted to a single orientation.
Combined with the protective bumpers and fabric exterior, the design appears focused on making the speaker suitable for active outdoor use rather than simply moving between rooms at home.
LG says the xboom Blast will begin rolling out in select markets during August 2026, with additional markets expected to follow later in the year.
Pricing and exact availability may vary by market. LG is positioning the speaker as a premium portable party speaker for users who want a combination of powerful sound, extended battery life, durability and smart features in an outdoor-friendly package.

The LG xboom Blast brings together several features that make sense for a modern outdoor party speaker. Its headline 220W output, up to 36 hours of battery life, replaceable 99Wh battery and IP68-rated protection give it the hardware needed for extended outdoor use.
The addition of AI Sound, Space Calibration Pro, Sound Field Enhance and AI Lighting makes the speaker more versatile, while Auracast support provides an option for expanding sound across larger gatherings.
Its duffel bag-inspired design and multiple carrying options are also practical touches for people who regularly take their music to the beach, campsite, pool or backyard.
Overall, LG xboom Blast looks like a strong addition to the xboom family, especially for users who want a powerful party speaker that is designed from the beginning for outdoor freedom rather than simply being a home speaker that happens to be portable.
