At CES 2026, ASUS expanded its compact computing lineup with the launch of the NUC 16 Pro Mini PC, a powerful yet space-efficient desktop designed primarily for business users, enterprises, and industrial environments. Despite its small footprint, the NUC 16 Pro focuses on delivering strong CPU performance, local AI processing capabilities, advanced connectivity, and support for multiple high-resolution displays, making it suitable for everything from office productivity and digital signage to edge AI workloads.
The ASUS NUC 16 Pro is powered by Intel’s latest Core Ultra Series 3 processors, with configurations going all the way up to the Intel Core Ultra X9 388H featuring a 65W TDP. ASUS also offers variants with Core Ultra X7, Core Ultra 7, and Core Ultra 5 processors, allowing businesses to choose performance levels based on workload requirements. Select models also support Intel vPro, enabling remote management and enhanced security for IT teams.
One of the standout features is the integrated NPU 5, which delivers up to 180 platform TOPS. This enables efficient local AI tasks such as real-time inference, data analytics, automation workflows, and AI-assisted applications without relying heavily on cloud processing.
Graphics duties are handled by either Intel Arc B390 integrated graphics or standard Intel Graphics, depending on the configuration. While compact in size, the NUC 16 Pro can drive up to four 4K displays simultaneously. Display output options include Thunderbolt 4, HDMI 2.1, and DisplayPort 2.1, offering flexibility for professional multi-monitor setups, control rooms, trading desks, or creative workflows that demand high-resolution screen space.
ASUS offers two memory configurations to suit different needs. The LPDDR5x variant supports up to 96GB of dual-channel LPDDR5x memory running at 9600 MT/s, delivering high bandwidth for AI and multitasking workloads, though this memory is not upgradeable later. For users who prioritize expandability, the DDR5 version includes two DDR5 SO-DIMM slots and supports up to 128GB of memory, making it more suitable for long-term scalability.
Storage on the NUC 16 Pro is equally impressive. The system includes two M.2 2280 slots, one supporting PCIe Gen 5 x4 and the other PCIe Gen 4 x4. This allows users to install ultra-fast NVMe SSDs, with storage capacities ranging from 128GB up to a massive 8TB. Such flexibility makes the mini PC suitable for data-heavy tasks, virtualization, and local content storage.
ASUS has equipped the NUC 16 Pro with extensive connectivity options. Networking includes dual 2.5G Ethernet ports for redundancy or load balancing, along with Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6.0 for fast and reliable wireless communication. On the front, users get one USB-C 3.2 Gen 2×1 port and two USB-A 3.2 Gen 2 ports for easy access. The rear panel adds two more USB-A 3.2 ports, two Thunderbolt 4 ports, video outputs, and a DC-in jack.
Beyond standard business use, the NUC 16 Pro is designed with industrial applications in mind. Internal headers for RS-232 and PCIe x1 expansion make it suitable for automation systems, kiosks, and embedded deployments. The tool-less chassis allows quick access for upgrades or maintenance, while the dual-fan cooling system helps maintain stable performance under sustained workloads.
Despite its capabilities, the ASUS NUC 16 Pro remains extremely compact, measuring just 144 × 117 × 42 mm with a volume of only 0.7 liters. Depending on configuration, it weighs between 750g and 910g. ASUS also highlights that the system has passed MIL-STD-810H testing, ensuring resistance to heat, cold, vibration, shock, and humidity, which adds confidence for deployment in demanding environments.
The ASUS NUC 16 Pro Mini PC strikes a strong balance between performance, AI capability, and compact design. With Intel Core Ultra processors, built-in NPU acceleration, quad 4K display support, and enterprise-grade connectivity, it stands out as a versatile solution for businesses, developers, and industrial users who need serious computing power in a small, reliable form factor.
